SNAP CUTS WILL HIT NEW YORK CITY HARD

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits (formerly known as
Food Stamp Program) will be reduced making it harder for people in the program
to feed their families.

SNAP benefits have been cut back to the levels that they were in 2009 while
price have increased by 18%.,

A household of three will receive $29 less per month!!!  The Community Kitchen
& Food Pantry in Manhattan predicts that will mean 76 million less meals for New
Yorkers over the next year!!!

The ability to maintain a balanced diet on a very low budget is incredibly difficult,
particularly in a city like New York where the costs are so high.
