Foreclosure Prevention Workshops

To provide assistance to people at risk of losing their properties, a foreclosure prevention town hall meeting will be held in White Plains on August 3rd, outside 11 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd Financial xperts will be on hand to give free consultation to worried homeowners. We will provide information about federal programs that can help with mortgage payments, general information and information about obtaining lon modifications. We can also help property owners file complaints against and seek resolutions with banks and other loan services. Free legal clinics for people in housing court cases will also run August 20th, September 17 and October 15 from 2-5 at 163 W 125th St 2nd floor. General housing issues and residents rights will be addressed. Appointments are required. Call MFY Legal Services. In June 20,1413 properties went into foreclosure in New York State. New York's June foreclosures made up2.6 percent of the more than 1.5 million nationwide.
