America's Deficit - A Long-Term Project

President Obama unveiled the proposed $3.73 trillion
2012 budget that highlights the differences between
Mr. Obama and the Republicans in Congress on issues
such as education, infrastructure and the environment.

Many of the spending cuts were to programs popular
with constituents like funds for local water and sewer
projects, agriculture subsidies and programs to provide
heat to the poor in the winter.

Rather than offer tax reform, the budget includes
numerous measures that would raise taxes on businesses
and high income individuals by $327 billion over
the next decade.

Continued high level of unemployment and the
significant and long lasting deficit screams for
budget reform that attacks these problems by
providing incentives to business not taxing them.
President Obama's budget did not address tax
or entitlement reform which is critical to making
a dent in America's fiscal health.
